Darcy Hay

“Local boy sings the blues"

Folk, blues and country singer-songwriter Darcy Hay has been known to silence noisy pubs with his intricate, rapid fire fingerpicking and deft harmonica solos. Also a prize-winning poet, Hay boasts both a talent for writing vivid, evocative lyrics and a raw, everyman voice – complete with a big, Australian drawl – that has drawn comparisons to an early Bob Dylan, or John Williamson.

Hay has one 13 track debut studio album behind him and another on the way, and has expanded onto the touring circuit, where he has made strong impressions at Nannup, Nukara, Nanga, Gascoyne River and Narrogin Big Bash Music festivals.

Darcy is a local lad hailing from our beautiful Mid West region. In his spare time, along with songwriting, Darcy is a passionate birdwatcher and nature enthusiast. We think he is the perfect choice for opening the Blues for the Bush.
